JErusalem day 2 - HIstorical side of JErusalem
The second day of our trip in Jerusalem was looking at the historical side of the city. We started off at the city of David where we had a tour of the area. We went down to the dry tunnels that used to be used as a water system and walked through them. It was about a five minutes walk through the narrow tunnels to come out at the bottom of a big hill we then had to climb back up.We then walked into the old city where we had to do a scavenger hunt around one area. My team won and we got a bookmark as a price. We then went for a cash lunch and I had a delicious burger. We then went shopping and I managed to find a can of air selling for 20 shekels. Very clever bisiness idea if you ask me! After this we went to The Davidson Center. This was donated in order to excavate some of the southern side of the Kotel. We went and saw an amazing animation showing a 3D reconstruction of the temple. It was really cool as the lady controlling it took us through all the streets as if we were walking through. We then went and saw the ruins of one of the mikvas outside the kotel and got on the bus back to the hotel.
Day 1 In Jerusalem - Time Elavator, kotel and kotel Tunnels
To start the day off we had to get up even earlier so that we could leave on time. We had a 2 and a half hour journey and onced we arrived our first stop was the time elavator. THis is what we did last time we came out to Israel, however this time they had changed it and it wasn't as good as last time. IT showed the history of Jerusalem though a simulator journey.
THat night we had the best supper in a long time because we were in a proper hotel!
We then went tothe Kotel.
For some people this was their first time and so when we got there they said shechianu.
We then went right up to the wall and i did ma'ariv. It was realy nice because no bird did their bisiness on anyone.
OUr final activity for the day was the KOtel tunnels.
THis was really goood because i found it very interesting and when we got to the clostest that we could to were the holy of holys would have been i said the Shema.
